# Introduction
### What is GEODNET GEODNET is an acronym for Global Earth Observation Decentralized Network, and the project is run by experienced individuals in the GPS industry. It is a Web3.0 blockchain-based highly-reliable RTK (Real-Time Kinematics) Network using #DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network) principles. You can think of it as an advanced network combining blockchain and RTK technologies to provide precise real-time positioning data. A permanent GNSS reference station on the GEODNET network is called a Base Station (also known as Satellite Miner). The long-term goal of the GEODNET Project is to fully cover the land surface of the Earth with 100,000 **evenly** placed Base Stations, which will form a network approximately twenty times larger than any existing Continuously Operated Reference Station (“CORS”) network. ### Why GEODNET is Game Changing Traditional GPS positioning often relies on signals from satellites positioned over 10,000 miles away. While this method is remarkably effective, it can sometimes result in location estimations with a margin of error spanning from a few to several dozen meters. To address this challenge, GEODNET introduces the concept of a reference station network. These Base Stations, installed on rooftops globally, serve as nodes in the network. Through a process known as "correction streaming," the reference station network disseminates real-time correction data to nearby devices subscribed to our service. As a result, devices within approximately 20 kilometers of a reference station can achieve instant centimeter-level accuracy in positioning, akin to Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) technology but without the associated costs. In return for providing these crucial reference points, participants receive GEOD tokens as rewards. The implications of this enhanced accuracy are profound. From smartphones navigating urban landscapes to autonomous vehicles traversing highways, high-precision location data enables increased automation and efficiency across diverse industries such as agriculture, construction, and transportation. Moreover, consumer-facing applications stand to benefit from more reliable and convenient mapping services too. The following information will help clarify how a wallet functions. Understanding how a digital wallet functions is relatively simple: for both software and hardware wallets, the only role they have is to **store and manage your private key(s) for you**. Software Wallet: a software wallet is a secure digital address that stores your private key(s), preventing un-authorized access to your cryptocurrency. Hardware Wallet: a hardware wallet is a physical item, such as a USB drive or other storage device, that is designed to store your private key(s) offline. Unlike traditional wallets, digital wallets **do not store your cryptocurrency**. Tokens are never "in your wallet", instead, they are stored on the blockchain at your address. You can think of your address like a bank account, and your private key like a PIN. If you would like to receive money from a person or business, you would provide them with your bank account number, **but never your PIN**. **\[NOTE]:** GEOD Network will never ask for your private key, and anyone asking for your private key is malicious. We recommend using [MetaMask](https://metamask.io/) to access GEOD network and its functions. The MetaMask wallet can be easily setup by: 1. Installing the MetaMask wallet 2. Adding GEOD as a custom token to your MetaMask wallet ### **Installing the MetaMask Wallet** MetaMask is a browser extension currently supported by Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Brave. Installation is simple - Go to [**metamask.io**](https://metamask.io/) and follow their installation instructions.

Be extra careful with every click you make here - there is no “undo” button, and if you lose your wallet's private keys - your coins may be gone forever!

After installation, MetaMask will generate a private key and a recovery passphrase for you. **Write this down and store in a safe place**. Treat the recovery passphrase (and private key derived from it) as your actual wallet - anyone who knows it owns your money, so **never show it to anyone**. If you already have a Polygon wallet with a passphrase or a private key, you can skip the creation of the new one above and import the one you already have. ### **Add GEOD as a Custom Token** To see your GEOD balance on MetaMask's token list on the left-side menu, you must add it as a Custom Token in your MetaMask wallet. **Method 1:** \ Log in to your MetaMask and click "Import tokens"
After clicking "Import tokens", you will be taken to the page shown below where you can search for GEOD token. Enter "GEOD" in the search box, select "Geodnet - GEOD", and click "Next".
Click "Import" to add GEOD token as a custom token in your wallet.
Once the GEOD token is successfully added to your wallet, the page below will appear.

### **Add Your Existing Wallets to MetaMask** After your MetaMask wallet is set up and ready to go, you can choose to add your existing digital wallets to MetaMask. To add your existing digital wallets to MetaMask, click on the "Account" on the top and select "Add account or hardware wallet", then follow the instructions to add your other wallets.

## Wallet Address Vs. Contract Address **Wallet Address** is the unique string of characters you use to send and receive cryptocurrency. It’s like the "destination" for your crypto tokens. Your wallet address on MetaMask can be copied directly from your account. You need to select Polygon network and add your wallet address on your Console account to receive $GEOD token rewards. **Contract Address** is like the “home” of a smart contract on the blockchain. Smart contracts are pieces of code that automatically execute actions when certain conditions are met, and the smart contract address is where that code lives. Contract Address example on Polygonscan:

The process typically takes around 2 minutes to complete. Once finished, you will see your updated balance in your Solana wallet. ### How to resume from a failed TX If the transaction is interrupted due to network or other issues, you can resume it by clicking the “Connect source wallet” button:

# Location NFT ### What is GEOD Location NFT? Other DePIN projects have struggled to create even network coverage as many blockchain and crypto enthusiasts currently live in major cities, and there are also generally fewer people in rural areas. The GEODNET Location NFT is an important tool that incentivizes even geographical network coverage. Each GEODNET Location NFT is a unique, non-fungible ERC-20 token issued on Polygon. For reference, here’s the GEODNET Location NFT collection on Opensea: ## How to Obtain a Location NFT To be eligible for a location NFT, a Base Station (Satellite Miner) must satisfy ALL of the following conditions: 1. The station is the first one in the Hex providing good data (98% RRR for 30 days). 2. There must be no other station with an NFT in the same hex as the current station. 3. The station has not received an NFT previously. 4. The station owner has a valid Polygon wallet address in their profile. If a station has an NFT, its reward rate is protected from the splitting of rewards within a hex. See [Hex Reward Rules](/geod-mining/hex-reward-rules) for details. ## How to Find out Location NFT ID To check if a wallet address has a Location NFT in it, go to Append wallet address to the end of the link, for example: for address 0x90983A50fFaD9f4d9cD0a7623C8F96938CA097F9, visit link: If there is Location NFT in that wallet address, it should be displayed in the list. Click the item to show the NFT ID. ## **Location NFT Status change and Cap** 1. Updating your wallet address with an NFT will result in losing your NFT status. You can transfer the NFT to the new wallet, but it cannot be bound to your station if another miner has claimed the NFT in your hex. If you can rebind the NFT, it will only be valid again after achieving a 98% RRR over 30 days. 2. If a station with NFT was unregistered and re-registered on GEODNET console platform, the station's data will be removed, and the station will have to start over again as a new one. The station must meet the NFT criteria again for its NFT to be valid. 3. NFTs will be unbound for any hex change, with re-binding allowed only after achieving a 98% RRR over 30 days as per [GIP2](https://vote.geodnet.com/proposal-list?id=GIP695741716474622802). 4. Starting 11/05/2025, [GIP8](https://vote.geodnet.com/proposal-list?id=GIP976761754520391978) is implemented. NFT rules are updated: NFT Acquisition Rules * To earn or re-activate an NFT, a station must achieve a ≥98% 30-day RRR. * If two or more stations in the same Hex meet the requirement on the same day: * NFT goes to the station with the highest 30-day RRR. * If tied, NFT goes to the station with the earliest install timestamp in that Hex. NFT Retention Rules * Active NFT holders must maintain a ≥80% 60-day RRR. * Dropping below this threshold makes the NFT inactive. * If multiple eligible stations are competing for an inactive NFT, the award process follows the acquisition rules above (highest RRR, then earliest install timestamp). 20,000 Active NFT Cap * The number of active NFTs across the network is capped at 20,000. * If the cap is reached, no new NFTs can be awarded, and inactive NFTs cannot be reactivated until a spot opens. * When a spot opens: * All stations with ≥98% 30-day RRR in eligible Hexes are considered. * The NFT goes to the station with the oldest install timestamp in that Hex.
# The GEOD Mining Basics ### The GEODNET Network The GEODNET network consists of satellite reference stations (known as base stations) that receive signals from Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). These stations correct signal errors caused by space weather, satellite inaccuracies, or urban obstructions. Each station provides precise RTK correction data through the GEODNET network to devices within a 20–40 kilometer range. Devices that connect to GEODNET for enhanced accuracy are called "rovers." A rover can be any GNSS-enabled device, such as a car, drone, smartphone, or tractor. Each station pploads \~10–20 GB of data and consumes <2W of power per month. ## Hex In the GEODNET Network, regions of coverage are depicted by hexagons, also known as "hexes". There are many reasons why we use Hexes to map out coverage areas (if you want to take a deeper dive, Helium has a good explanation in [this article](https://blog.helium.com/mapping-the-world-with-hexagons-49f57d8b3df5?ref=blog.hellohelium.com)). Hexes allow us to maximize precision and proximity when mapping out the network. ### The Mining Process In order to build the largest reference station network, GEODNET designed a system where individuals can purchase and install a small geodetic-grade GNSS antenna (Base Station) on their roof to provide a node to the network — all over the world. As a reward for providing these reference points, individuals are rewarded with GEOD tokens. The Mining process is simple: 1. Purchase a Base Station 2. # How to Configure Internet for Your Station You can follow this [YouTube video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEkbqIQdlPE\&t=11s) or the content below to install your station. ## 1. Start-up of the HYFIX device (HYFIX or OEM version) ### 1.1 Connect all Cables to the Base Station Plug in the USB-C cable and power the HYFIX device with any 5 volt, 2.5 or 3 amp USB charger.
On the HYFIX device, remove the red plastic from the “WiFi-BT” input, and connect the Wi-Fi antenna.
Remove the red plastic for “GNSS+” and connect the smaller end of the satellite antenna cable. (SMA-Male connector) Connect the other end to the satellite antenna. (TNC-Male connector) The "UWB" port is for future expansions and is currently not in use. ### 1.2 Power UP / LED Definition Switch your HYFIX unit to the ON position using the small slide switch. The left red LED (Power) will turn on. The right green LED (Wi-Fi Internet) should be blinking slowly. The middle orange LED (PPS) will be off and activated later. The device is now in the “Access Point Mode” *(AP Mode).*
*Note: We recommend using the provided Wi-Fi antenna, as we have observed issues during testing using random Wi-Fi antennas.*

## 2. Wi-Fi Connection and Internet Setup * Now using your phone, PC or MAC to connect to the HYFIX device's Wi-Fi. * You don't need an internet connection for this step. * On your phone, PC or MAC, go into the settings and networks and connect to your HYFIX device's Wi-Fi. It should start with “MGW200\_...” or "MobileCM\_...". * For password, enter in the serial number that is on the back of your HYFIX device. * Once connected, it may say, “no internet”, that’s okay.
Turn over your HYFIX device and note the number on the sticker. You need this to register to the "console.geodnet.com" later on. ### 2.1 Configure MobileCM Network Connection (AP Mode) Use the same device as in step 2.0, then enter the IP address 192.168.4.1 and this page will pop up. Some of our miners suggest that Firefox browser works better. \ For IOS or Mac device, setup page should pop up automatically after entering password.
**Miner Key:** must be at least 12 characters long and contain no special characters. If the green light starts flashing again, the Base Station has not been connected to Wi-Fi. Please check if you have connected it correctly and try again. When the station gets a full green light, you can go over to your PC/Tablet that is connected to the same internet you connected your station to. ### 2.2 Open MobileCM WebUI (Station Mode) * Now open your internet router’s webpage and check the current connected devices on your Wi-Fi. * In the Router Settings you will find the MobileCM listed as: ***espressif.*** * Note the IP-Adress of ***espressif: 192.168.x.x.*** * You need to access on the MobileCM WebUI (Station Mode). *Please be sure again you use 2.4GHZ Wi-Fi. And you ask them the same thing that you will be looking for inside the router settings. “You are looking for the IP address of a device named espressif”.* * When you have the IP address (IP 192.168).x.x enter it into your browser, and this page should pop up.
### 2.3 Set Miner Key and Transmit Data to GEODNET If you see the word “TRANSMITTNG”, the setup is complete.
**Useful information if you change location or have made a mistake in setup:** For those interested, pressing the “reset” key on the back resets the device back to AP-Mode. # Best Location for Your Station ## Why Site Selection Matters? The GNSS signal travels from the GNSS satellite around 20,000km away, and arrives in GNSS receivers (Base Stations) with very weak power. The GNSS signal can be easily affected by its surroundings. To maintain a decent quality GNSS network, **the GNSS antenna should be installed with an open-sky view without any obstructions**. Any negative factors will result in bad GNSS signal quality. **Obstructions and multipath interference from over-hanging trees will result in poor GNSS signal quality further.** In the backend system, GEODNET monitors the GNSS signal quality and issue GEOD tokens based on the GNSS signal quality.

GEODNET adopts the GNSS signal SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio) on L1 as an indicator for each tracked GNSS signal quality. Typical GNSS L1 SNR for each satellite should range from 37-45 for an acceptable installation. The GNSS signals with SNR below 32 will not be used in GEODNET backend algorithm. The following screenshot is the GNSS SNR signal from one online station.
### Token Calculation based on Satellite No. and Satellite SNR Each satellites’ SNR (signal noise ratio) will be recorded. Effective satellite number means, only SNR ≥32 satellites will be counted. **Previous Reward Ratio:** Reward ratio = 100%, if effective satellite number ≥ 30; Reward ratio = 0%, if effective satellite number ≤ 20; Reward ratio = (30-x)/10, if effective satellite number is between 20 to 30.
**New Reward Ratio Since Approval of GIP6 on April 7, 2025:** Based on discussions within the GEODNET community regarding [GIP6](https://vote.geodnet.com/proposal-list?id=GIP643631741949739805), North America has significantly fewer satellite views compared to the rest of the world. As a result, it is unfair to use a single or high satellite count as a factor in the RRR (Rolling Reward Rate) calculation for GEODNET stations. After considering all relevant factors, the reward ratio has been be adjusted globally for all stations upon the approval of GIP6 as follows:\ \ Reward ratio = 100%, if effective satellite number ≥ 29; Reward ratio = 0%, if effective satellite number ≤26 (<80% RRR as proposed in GIP6).

## Multipath (MP) Multipath occurs when GNSS signals reflect off surfaces such as buildings, terrain, or infrastructure before reaching a receiver, causing GPS interference. If you wish to learn more about multipath metrics from a technical perspective, you can read this [essay ](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tXwuEnNVlHeKdfqnQN25fBZhjYS9aKl_/view?usp=sharing). #### **Why is Multipath a Problem?** * Reduces Accuracy: The receiver detects both direct and reflected signals, leading to positioning errors. * Impairs Performance: Delayed signal "echoes" distort calculations, degrading location precision. #### **How Can You Reduce Multipath?** Generally, if you set up your station following the[ installation guide](/geod-mining/best-location-for-your-station), multipath is mitigated by the 10° rule. The Base Station (Satellite Miner) with NFT in a Hex has no penalty, so the reward multiplier is 100%. **Note:** If there is no NFT station within the Hex, stations without NFT status share 100%. For example, reward multiplier for 1 non-NFT station is 100%, 50% each for 2 non-NFT stations in the Hex.
2. All other stations in the same hex without NFT share another 100%.
3. Distance within 100m will share one reward no matter how many Base Stations are within a 100m distance.
Explanation: *If there is one NFT Base Station and two normal Base Stations in the field, the NFT station gets 100%, and the other two share 100% with 50% each. Total 200% in the field.* *If there are two NFT Base Stations and two normal Base Stations in the field, each NFT station gets 100%, and the other two share 100% with 50% each. A total of 300% in the field.* **Note:** Prior to April 1, 2023, GEODNET issued Location NFTs to all Base Stations that maintained a 30-day RRR exceeding 98% as a reward for early adoption. As of April 1, 2023, only the first eligible Base Station in a hex will receive a Location NFT. Within a hex with multiple stations, only stations with the NFT are eligible for full rewards. The other Base Stations will split the remaining eligible rewards. 4. For a cluster of Base Stations within 100m, only the earliest station gets the cluster share. All other stations get zero regardless of NFT status.
### NFT Miners Within 100m in a Hex If two NFT Base Stations are in the same spot, only one will get the full reward. The other gets zero. This rule proceeds the NFT benefit, which means even if both Base Stations have NFT, only one will get the full reward, the other one will get zero.
### Edge Cases 1. After April 1, 2023, you may occasionally see two NFT miners within the same Hex. This happens when both miners meet the NFT criteria on the same day when our system performs a check. 2. As of July 15, 2025, if two stations meet the NFR criteria on the same day within the same hex, only the station installed earlier (based on timestamp) can earn the NFT 3. If there is already an NFT miner within a Hex, and another NFT miner attempts to move to the same Hex, the NFT status of the latter miner will be invalidated. ### Miners Inactive If a Base Station without NFT is offline for 7 days, it will not be counted as an active station in a Hex. So, its previous share of the reward will be reduced to zero. If a Base Station with NFT is offline for 30+7 days, it will not be counted as an active station in a Hex. It will lose its NFT-protected position. Its previous share of the reward will be reduced to zero. Other Miners in the same hex thus can bind an NFT afterward. ### Miner Reward Re-calculation The Miner reward multiplier will be recalculated within a Hex when the following behavior happens: 1\) New Base Stations are added into the Hex 2\) Base Stations leave the Hex 3\) Unbinding NFT successful 4\) Binding new NFT successful 5\) If the Base Station (no NFT) is offline for more than 7 days. 6\) If the Base Station (with NFT) is offline for more than 30+7 days. ### Moving Stations Between Different Hexes The rules below are implemented on October 9th, 2024, as a result of the successful passing of [GIP2:](https://vote.geodnet.com/proposal-list?id=GIP695741716474622802) 1. Miners' RRR will reset to 0% upon any Hex change. 2. NFTs will be unbound for any Hex change, with re-binding allowed only after achieving a 98% RRR over 30 days. 3. Location changes within the same Hex will not trigger an RRR reset. # Performance-Based Reward Rules ## What is Performance-Based Reward? The Performance-Based Reward system was introduced and approved by [GIP6 ](https://vote.geodnet.com/proposal-list?id=GIP643631741949739805)on April 7, 2025. The primary objective of this proposal is to enhance the overall service quality of the GEODNET network by improving station performance, minimizing downtime, and reducing signal multipath (MP). This ensures the delivery of high-quality data services to customers. The system incentivizes underperforming stations to improve while rewarding high-performing stations, promoting greater efficiency and fairness across the network. This rule operates in conjunction with other network rules that guide GEODNET token distribution, including [token reward metrics](/geod-mining/token-reward-metrics), [hex reward rules](/geod-mining/hex-reward-rules), and the[ superhex multiplier](/geod-console-advanced/superhex). The Performance-Based Reward rules took effect on July 2, 2025.
## Penalties & Bonus Rewards ### Penalties Stations that do not meet performance standards will lose their rewards. These forfeited rewards will be allocated to an extra reward pool for eligible backbone stations. * **RRR:** Stations with a two-hourly RRR < 80% will lose rewards for that period. This applies to both NFT and non-NFT stations. * **Multipath (MP):** Stations with MP > 0.75m will lose rewards. * **Dual-Band:** All dual-band stations and signals will be ineligible for GEOD rewards. ### Bonus Rewards Stations in the backbone RTK network with 7-day RRR > 99.9% are eligible to equally share the bonus reward pool. GEODNET will first build the backbone RTK network in Europe and North America, later expanding to Asia, Australia, South America, and Africa in the future. * If a backbone station has not added a phone number and a wallet address, it will not receive any bonus rewards. The unclaimed rewards will be rolled over into the following week’s pool. * Bonus rewards are distributed weekly. * Rewards for qualifying backbone stations are displayed in the [**Console** ](https://console.geodnet.com/)**> Mine > Backbone Historical Rewards** section. * Currently, only backbone stations have access to reward system statistics. # GEODNET Console Introduction GEODNET Console is a platform designed for GEOD users. On this platform, users can view the global distribution of Base Stations (Satellite Miners). Users can register their Base Station on the platform, set up digital wallet, and receive token rewards. The platform also offers advanced features to enrich the GEOD ecosystem. This chapter covers basic operations and functions of the Console platform. The next chapter, Console Advanced, will introduce advanced modules and features within the current Console platform.\ \ Link to the console platform: # Register a Console Account To access all the features on the Console platform, you must register for a console account. 1. Click on the "Sign in/Join" button in the top right corner to open the login/register pop-up.
2. Click the "Create Account" button to open a pop-up for the registration page.
2. Fill in the fields for "Username," "Email" and "Password" then click the "Create" button to register.
# Enable Two-Factor Authentication 1. Click on the "Wallet"button in the top menu bar to open the 2FA management page.
2. After clicking on "Two-Factor Authentication", click the red button "Enable two-factor authentication" to open the secondary verification pop-up.
3. After scanning the QR code with the Authenticator app (which needs to be downloaded on your phone), input the code within the app into the text box, then click the "Enable" button to activate the secondary verification.
# Disable Two-Factor Authentication 1. Click the "Wallet"button on the top menu bar to open the 2FA management page.
2. After clicking on "Two-Factor Authentication", click "Disable two-factor authentication" at the bottom to open the secondary verification dialog.
3. After entering the code from the Authenticator app on your phone, click the "Disable" button to disable the 2FA.
# Update Console Account Password 1. Click the "Wallet" button on the top menu bar to open the password management page.
2. Clicking on "Change Password" opens the password change dialog. Enter the old password and the new password twice. Input the secondary verification (if you have enabled it), then click "Change Password" to update your password.
# Reset Console Account Password If you forget your Console account password, you can reset it by following the steps below. 1. Click on the "Sign in/Join" button in the upper right corner to open the login/registration dialog box.
2. Click on "Forget password?" button to open the password recovery page to input your email.
2. Enter your email address for password recovery. Click the "Send Email" button to send the email. 3. Click on the platform link in the email to access the password reset page.
5. After entering the new password twice, click the "Submit" button to reset it. # Add a Wallet Address & Phone Number ## Dual Wallet Support - Polygon & Solana GEODNET participants can earn GEOD token rewards by operating a GEODNET Base Station. To receive rewards, you must add a wallet in the console platform.\\ \ **Polygon wallet (required) for:** * GEODNET Location NFT * Staking * Revenue share mining * Daily token reward distribution **Solana wallet (optional) for receiving daily GEOD rewards** Note: Split rewarding is not supported in Solana wallet yet. ## **How to Add a Wallet & Phone Number on Console:** 1. Click on the "Wallet" button in the top navigation bar to access the wallet management page. \ You can choose to add a phone number, if you would like to receive[ bonus rewards](/performance-based-reward-rules).
2. Clicking the red button "Update Wallet Address" will send a request link to your email for updating your wallet address.
3. Open the received email link to access the page for updating your wallet address. Please note that the action must be completed within 15 minutes, otherwise, another email will need to be resent.
4. After clicking the email link to access the page for resetting your wallet address, enter your wallet adddress. Then, proceed to click the "Change Polygon Address" or "Change Solana Address" button to reset your wallet address.
# Token Distribution Time GEOD tokens are automatically distributed on a daily basis at UTC time 5:30 am / PST 9:30 pm , if you 1\) Added a wallet address on Console 2\) Earned at least 5 GEOD tokens 3\) Switched on “Token Issuance” on Console: Login - Mine - Miners List - Token Issuance
Location NFTs are now automatically distributed daily. For Revenue Splitting Miners, tokens are distributed automatically when the 5-GEOD-token threshold is met. # Update Wallet Address with NFT Warning: If you have an NFT associated with your wallet address, be very cautious. If there is another NFT in the same Hex, changing your wallet address will result in losing your capability to bind the NFT with the new address. **Move NFT from old wallet to a new wallet address. If you do not have a new / second wallet address please make one for this procedure.** **- This step will “unbind” the NFT from the miner it is currently connected to.** 1. Find out your NFT ID from the Console map or your Console account. You will need to use it later. 2. Go to MetaMask wallet to import NFT. Click on the NFT tab:

Click on “Import NFT”: Address should be : 0x731edd6d701d0ea6df5f900b0719697904f94f0e Token ID will be your NFT ID.
If the NFT belongs to you, the import will be successful. In some cases, NFT image is not displayed. You may need to turn on "Display NFT Media".
If you want to transfer your NFT to another wallet, click on the NFT image:
It will display the Location NFT information.
Scroll down to bottom:
Click on Send button to send to another Polygon wallet address. Be careful, when Location NFT is sent out of the wallet address, its NFT protection in console map will be gone. # Add a Base Station to Console ## Add a Solo Miner Adding a Base Station (Satellite Miner) to the GEODNET Console platform means that the ownership of the physical station belongs to that single account. By employing this approach, the miner's rewards will belong to the digital wallet address linked to this account. **Steps to Add:** 1. Click on the "Mine" button in the top navigation bar to access the Miners page. Then, click on the "Solo Mining" button to enter the page displaying the solo miner list. Click on the "Add Miner" button to open the “Add Solo Miner” dialog box.
2. After entering the "Miner SN" (Miner Serial Number), "Miner Nickname," "Miner Key," and "verification Code", click the "Add" button to add the miner.
## Add a Revenue Splitting Miner A revenue splitting miner refers to a physical Base Station with token income distribution between two wallets. The earnings of a single Base Station can be proportionally allocated between a main account wallet and a profit-sharing wallet. This scenario typically applies to situations where the primary user of a console account shares profit with another user without a console accounts (but with a wallet address). 1. Click the "Mine" button in the top navigation menu to access the Miners page, then select "Revenue Split Mining" to enter the profit-sharing miner list. Click the "Add Miner" button to open the “Add Revenue Split Miner” dialog box.
2. After entering the "Miner SN", "Nickname," "Miner Key," "Revenue Wallet Address" (second wallet address to receive rewards at), and "Percentage to Revenue Wallet" (the percentage of rewards allocated to the revenue wallet), input the verification code and click the "Add" button to add the Base Station. Glossaries Explained: * Miner SN: Your station's serial number * Nickname: A descriptive name for your station * Miner Key: The key you set during station WiFi configuration * Revenue Wallet Address: The wallet address where revenue sharing will be distributed * Percentage to the revenue wallet: * Range: 0–1 (where 1 = 100%) * Example: 0.2 = 20% ## Change a Solo Miner to a Revenue Splitting Miner If you have a Solo Miner and would like to change it to a Revenue Splitting Miner, please be careful because you will lose all data and NFT status. **Steps to change:** 1. Unregister the Solo Miner from your console account. 2. Reset the Solo Miner and treat it as new. All data history and NFT status will be removed from this miner. 3. After resetting, add this miner as a Revenue Splitting Miner. # Track Your Station's Performance & Rewards ## Why Track Performance? You can monitor your station’s performance and rewards on the GEODNET console. Currently, GEODNET evaluates stations performance based on key metrics to determine data quality and reward distribution. \ \ These metrics include: * Online time * RRR (Rolling Reward Rate) * MP (Multipath) * Device type (Triple-band or Dual-band) This holistic breakdown helps station owners identify areas for improvement.
## How to Track? 1. Log in to your console account and click the "Mine" tab to view your station list.
2. Click a Miners SN to see its historical rewards.
3. View your station's daily rewards, accumulated historical rewards, and distributed rewards to date. Extra reward may come from community events, bug compensation, etc.
4. Click "Details" to view daily reward breakdowns.
5. If your station's performance is below standards, relevant metrics will be highlighted in red (e.g., RRR < 80%, MP > 0.75, or Dual-band signals). Underperforming hours earn zero rewards - details in [performance-based reward rules](/performance-based-reward-rules).
Below is an example of reward calculations.
## Backbone Station Bonus Rewards 1. If your station is selected as a backbone station, on your console "Mine" page, you can see the bonus reward pool, eligible number of backbone stations, and expiration time of current bonus reward cycle. **Backbone station with >99.9% RRR can earn bonus rewards.** \ \ Your bonus rewards = Bonus $GEOD Reward Pool / Qualifying Stations (based on final numbers before weekly reward distribution)
2. View your station's backbone status on the Mine page. **a) Green circle + purple shield:** Your station has been selected as a backbone station, but its RRR does not qualify for the bonus reward (7-day RRR **≤** 99.9%).

**b) Green circle + green shield:** Your station has been selected as a backbone station and qualifies for the bonus reward (7-day RRR > 99.9%).
3. View your "Historical Backbone Rewards" under "Historical Rewards (Last 7 Days)".
# GEODNET Map Navigation Click the "Map" button in the Console at the top navigation menu to access the Map page.
Click the arrow on the left sidebar of the map to show or hide the panel on the left.
Click the icon in the top-left corner on the left side panel to select the display of Base Stations on the map based on their status.
Enter the serial number of a Base Station in the text box on the left side panel to search for the Base Station.
Click "All Miners" or "My Miners" on the left side panel to toggle between displaying all Base Stations and displaying only your Base Station.
Click the “Available for Staking” button to view the list of locations available for staking. Click the “Active SuperHex" button to view the list of Active SuperHexes.
Clicking on a Base Station on the map displays detailed information about the Base Station.
Entering an address or coordinate in the text box in the top-right corner of the map allows you to locate that address on the map.
Click the icon buttons on the right side of the map to display and utilize their functions.
# Location NFT Use ### One Per Hex Rule The GEOD Location NFT is an ERC-721 token used by the GEODNET community to incentivize highly active miners. The Location NFT is awarded to the first high-performance Base Station installed in a GEODNET Hex. A new batch of GEODNET NFTs is sent to the newly-qualified Base Stations’ wallet addresses on file on a daily basis during work days. To qualify, the Base Station must receive 98% or more of the eligible rewards for a 30-day period, and it must be the first Base Station in the hex to do so. This metric is known as the Rolling Rewards Rate (RRR), and it is prominently displayed on the console. To reach the 98% threshold, the installation of Base Station needs to be optimal and the online rate needs to be very close to perfect. However, with a clear view sky and a stable connection, this is easily achievable.

**Note:** Prior to April 1, 2023, GEODNET issued Location NFTs to all Base Stations that maintained a 30-day RRR exceeding 98% as a reward for early adoption. As of April 1, 2023, only the first eligible Base Station in a hex will receive a Location NFT. Within a hex with multiple stations, only stations with the NFT are eligible for full rewards. The other Base Stations will split the remaining eligible rewards. ### NFT Protection in Crowded Hexes In a crowded hex with multiple Base Stations, only the station with a Location NFT is eligible to receive the full rewards rate. The other Base Stations will split eligible rewards. For hexes where multiple Location NFTs were rewarded prior to April 1, 2023, all the Location NFT holders in that hex are eligible for the maximum reward rate. ### What If My RRR Later Drops If your Base Station has an NFT, but the station's RRR later drops, the miner does not lose the Location NFT. However, the rewards rate will decrease in accordance with the current station performance. In other words, the Location NFT does not guarantee rewards, it merely ensures eligibility for the maximum rewards. ### Future Benefits of Location NFT Miners with the GEOD Location NFTs also have additional community privileges, such as proposing and voting on proposals in Governance. In the future, Location NFT holders will have further priority participation rights in GEODNET community governance. # SuperHex ### What is SuperHex The GEODNET Foundation is working with the community to build a worldwide, evenly distributed RTK network. Achieving even coverage requires deployment in less populated regions and some hard-to-reach locations. The GEODNET Foundation launched the SuperHex program to promote better coverage even in remote areas. The GEODNET Foundation, together with current and potential customers, reviews a list of high value areas on the map requiring RTK base stations. These regions are then defined as a SuperHex. The SuperHex consists of 7 continuous subhexes in the current GEODNET network map. The Foundation makes these SuperHexes stakable. All community GEOD holders can stake on these SuperHexes. Afterwards, existing and future miners can deploy a Base Station in the SuperHexes to receive additional rewards. ### Claiming & Retaining Phase II SuperHex Rewards Prior to the implementation of [GIP5](https://vote.geodnet.com/proposal-list?id=GIP202381733411309930), the first newly deployed GNSS Base Station within an active SuperHex will receive rewards multiplied by up to 4x. GIP5 was implemented on January 09, 2025 which amended the rules for claiming and retaining multiplied rewards in an active SuperHex. \ \ **Claiming SuperHex Multiplied Rewards:** The first station by timestamp (no ties) that reaches a 7-day RRR of ≥95% will take the open SuperHex spot and thus the bonus multiplier for that Superhex. If two stations hit ≥95% at the same time, the station with the earlier install time will be awarded the open SuperHex Spot. **Retaining SuperHex Multiplied Rewards:** A station that currently holds the SuperHex spot will lose it if their 14-day RRR drops below 84%. This check will occur 14 days after the station first receives the SuperHex spot. The next station in the SuperHex with a 7-day RRR of ≥95% will then be awarded the SuperHex bonus multiplier. If multiple stations qualify, the station with the highest 7-day RRR in the SuperHex will be awarded the bonus multiplier. In the event of an RRR tie, the station with the earlier install timestamp in the SuperHex will be awarded the multiplier. **Losing Superhex Rewards:** 1. Station unregistered from GEODNET console platform 2. Station moves out of SuperHex area 3. Station's 14-day RRR value is less than 84% (New rule under GIP5) ### Staking Workflow Key Steps of the staking process include: 1. GEODNET creates a SuperHex proposal and makes it available to stake. 2. All users can stake GEOD tokens to meet the minimal requirements (20,000 GEOD currently) within 90 days. The proposed SuperHex becomes active for station deployment. 3. Within 180 days, the initial station deployed in the designated SuperHex area will receive multiplier rewards for a duration of one year starting from the installation date of the station. 4. Stakers will get 20% percent bonus at the end of the 1-year period for staked GEOD tokens. ### States of SuperHex A SuperHex can have three states: **Available for staking (Proposal):** The GEODNET foundation creates a new proposed SuperHex location for the community to stake. Users connect their wallet to stake the available SuperHex. The minimum stake required is 1000 GEOD, with increments of 1000 GEOD thereafter.

**Active:** Once a SuperHex is fully staked, the color of SuperHex changes to blue. For each Active SuperHex, the console will clealy indicate whether the SuperHex has a 2X or 4X 1-year multiplier. Anyone in the SuperHex region can then deploy a new Base Station in one of the 7 hexes and start to earn extra rewards! Most of the SuperHex reward is set to 2X the average miner reward. In some extremely valuable locations, the SuperHex reward can be up to 4x the average miner reward. At the end of 180 days, if no miner appears in a SuperHex, the SuperHex becomes No-show and the staked tokens are released back to the stakers without the Phase II 20% bonus.

**Producing:** The icon for the SuperHex will show a red check mark. The first deployed Base Station receives the multiplied rewards. Any following Base Station installed in the SuperHex will then receive the normal 1x reward. All subsequent stations are subject to regular rules such as overcrowding penalty, NFT protection, etc.

# See GEOD Transactions in Polygon 1. Click "Wallet" on Console. Under "Owner Wallet address", click "Explorer Link".
2. After clicking the"Explorer Link" button, you will be taken to the Polygonscan landing page below where you can see your GEOD token transaction history.
3. Click the "Transaction Hash" to see transaction details. If you own revenue splitting miners, you will be able to track each revenue share wallet's profit by checking each wallet address on the Polygon Transaction Details page.
# Stake GEODs ## Check the Staking Area 1. Click the "Stake" button in the top menu bar to access the Staking Center page. Then, click the "Staking" button, followed by selecting the "Available for Staking" card menu to view current staking activities.
2. Clicking on the Center ID allows you to locate the specific position of the staking activity on the map. Green areas are areas available for staking.
## Stake GEOD 1. Before staking GEODs, you need to connect a Polygon wallet. Click "Connect Polygon Wallet" in the menu bar to prompt wallet login. * Before connecting to MetaMask:

3. After entering the staking amount, click the "Approve" button to authorize the staking activity.

Once the staking targets are met, the entry will transit from "Available for Staking" to "Active SuperHex" immediately, entering the Base Station deployment stage. 1. Click the "Stake" button in the top menu bar to access the Staking Center page. Then, click the "Staking" button, followed by selecting the "Active SuperHex" card menu to view the list of Base Stations available for deployment.
2. Click on the "Center ID" in the list to view the specific staking location and the deployment status of the Base Stations. The staking area will be displayed in blue.
3. After binding the Base Station within this area, the Staking region will appear as shown in the following image.
## View My Staking Click the "Stake" button in the top menu to access the Staking Center page. Then, click "My Staking" followed by selecting the "My Staked List" card menu to view your list of staking.
## View My Producing Miner list Click the "Stake" button in the top menu to access the Staking Center page. Then, click "My Staking", followed by selecting the "My Producing Miner List" card menu to view the list of Base Stations deployed within the staking period.
## Redeem Staked GEODs During the entire staking process, there are several points in time when the staked GEODs can be redeemed: * Staking stage: If the total staking target is not met within the specified time (30 days), the staking activity fails, and the staked GEODs can be returned. * Base Station Deployment waiting stage: If the station fails to deploy within the specified time (180 days), the staking fails, and the staked GEODs can be returned. * Earnings stage: After the earning period ends and the activity concludes, the staked GEODs can be returned with 20% bonus. **The bonus will be automatically distributed to the staked account after the staking period ends. The staked tokens need to be withdrawn manually on the Console.** **Console steps:** 1. Click the "Stake" button in the top menu to access the Staking Center page. Then, click "My Staking", followed by selecting the "My Staked List" card menu to view your staking list. 2. Select the staked token to be redeemed, then click the "Withdraw" red button to open the redemption confirmation dialog.
3. After clicking the "Confirm" button, the MetaMask plugin will be prompted, then click the "Confirm" button on the MetaMask plugin to proceed with the redemption. 4. Redemption transaction sent successfully, awaiting verification. # Staking FAQs **-India Remote Mining:** The remote India mining program is ongoing for only existing miners. We will not be accepting new requests through GEODNET/HYFIX to host remote miners. **-What happens to existing lease contract?** Hepta Networks will be in contact with owners directly to extend the lease contract. **-If contracts are not renewed, what happens to the paid station?** Confirm contract cancellation with Hepta Networks at time of renewal request. A new station will be shipped to owner at the end of the subscription and the existing Inida station will be deregistered from console account. Owner will be responsible for the shipping cost and custom fees of the new station. **-India 2x Reward Promo:** New stations that went online in India on or after April 1, 2024 will NOT recieve 2x rewards and will receive the same rewards as all stations in the world according to data quality and hex rules. **-Will there be Phase II SuperHexes in India?** Yes. Contact Hepta Networks for remote deployment into the SuperHex. **-How much GEOD do I need to stake?** 20,000 GEOD is required to fully stake a Superhex. You do not need to fully stake a Superhex alone. **-Can I split my stake with others?** Yes, any number of participants can contribute to reach 20,000 in increments of 1000 GEOD tokens. **-How much do I earn for staking?** At the end of the 1-year producing period, the staker receives an additional 20% of GEOD tokens. For example, if the staker staked 2000 GEOD tokens, at the end of the 1-year producing period the staker shall receive 2400 GEOD tokens. **-What is the earning potential for deploying into a staked area?** The first miner in an active and empty SuperHex can receive the full bonus mining rate for one year after it is installed. **-What is difference of the reward multiplier from phase I?** For SuperHex phase II, the multiplier reward is fixed. So, the best strategy is to deploy a Base Station in a SuperHex as soon as you can. **-How long does the stake last?** 1 year from the first day of the producing period. If no station shows after 180 days, the stake is canceled and tokens are returned early. **-How long do the rewards last?** 1 year from the date the first station in the SuperHex goes online. **-How fine are the timestamps( if someone else deploys on the same day, what happens?)** GPS provides an exact time stamp down to 100nS level accuracy, so there is no ambiguity on who is first. **-If I stake into an area 1st do I get more than the 2nd staker?** Order is unimportant in staking. All stakers are treated equally. **-When do multiplier rewards no longer apply (can I put 20 miners in a hex with a multiplier?)** Only the first miner will get the multiplier. **-What is the clock on a SuperHex that isn't fully staked?** A proposed SuperHex has 90 days to get staked or the proposal will be cancelled. **-How does this impact the Tokenomics?** The aggressive Phase I tokens emission only supports a small number of SuperHexes. The Foundation reduced the maximum multiplier reward, but increased the number of SuperHexes which increases the opportunity to deploy a station in a SuperHex. **-Are national forests and deserts going to be off limits?** We discourage any illegal deployments. Proposed SuperHex locations will be carefully reviewed. **-What happens if you stake, someone installs a station, then the station is moved out before reward time is over, who gets the reward?** If there is another station in that SuperHex, it will earn the reward multiplier once the initial station leaves. The Superhex reward then passes onto the next station that had entered the SuperHex earliest. **-You stake a hex, someone deploys, and that station gets stolen or removed. You put in a replacement station, does that station get the multiplier rewards?** The Superhex reward then passes onto the next station that had entered the SuperHex earliest. # Introduction ### Background GEODNET welcomes community members to participate in the governance of the GEODNET project. To facilitate this, we have established a decentralized GEODNET Governance platform enabling community engagement and proposal voting. The voting power each user has is denoted as veNFT. Three types of GEOD users have veNFT: 1\. Miners who are rewarded with a Location NFT by being the first one producing high quality data within a Hex 2\. Miners who have staked in the GEODNET SuperHex program, helping GEODNET to cover high-value region and create a full-coverage network 3\. Holders of locked GEOD tokens including the team and investors The total veNFT number is calculated dynamically, using the total number of Location NFT number as baseline. For example**,** assume current quantity of Location NFT is 2100, these are directly mapped to 2100 veNFT. Total staked GEOD holders are allocated 2100 veNFT. In this case, the team or investors can delegate their veNFT to another wallet address. The team and investors will be contacted individually to set up a delegated veNFT wallet. ### Voting Parameters We encourage members to propose initiatives that benefit our community and contribute to the sustainable development of the GEODNET project. Therefore, all submitted proposals will undergo audit and approval procedures prior to voting. Upon successful approval, approved proposals enter the voting process. The following parameters determine whether a proposal voting is successful: **Quorum:** The number of voting veNFT needs to exceed the quorum for the proposal voting to be considered valid. Currently the quorum is 20% of the total veNFT. If the number of voting veNFT is less than 20%, the proposal fails. **Passing rate:** Among the total voting veNFT, the percentage voted YES is defined as passing rate. Currently the passing rate is 67% or 90%. **Voting period:** Currently the voting period is 2 weeks (14 days). During this period, anyone with veNFT can vote. Upon successful voting - 67% or 90% voted YES of total veNFT, approved proposals are subsequently implemented. ### Vote on a Proposal After connecting your MetaMask wallet, click the "Agree with this proposal" button in the bottom right corner to vote for proposals, or click the "Against this proposal" button to vote against proposals, provided you are eligible to vote: * Hold a "Location NFT" * Have staked GEOD tokens in a SuperHex * Hold a locked wallet # About veNFT veNFT is used to determine whether a proposal is adopted. veNFT comprises of three voting sources: GEODNET Location NFT, Staked GEODs, and Locked GEODs. A 67% or 90% majority vote is required to pass a proposal. Location NFTs are rewarded to miners according to our mining rules. Members can also stake their GEOD tokens to gain voting power. Currently, locked GEOD holders, including our team and investors, are considered foundation members. ### Access the veNFT Page By clicking the “About veNFT'' button on the GEODNET Governance homepage, you can open the veNFT page to view details about the platform's voting system.
### View the Latest veNFT Status On the "About veNFT" page, scroll down to view the latest veNFT status panel. When the total amount of Location NFTs, Staked GEODs, or Locked GEODs changes, the corresponding veNFT figures are also automatically updated based on their weight in the total veNFT power.
### Understanding the Weighting of veNFT Power To grasp the calculation and weighting of the veNFT power, scroll to the bottom of the page to view the following table.
The "Percentage" column indicates the weight of each veNFT source in the total veNFT power. The "Calculation" column displays the required amount of Location NFTs, Staked GEODs, or Locked GEODs needed for one veNFT. # Personal Account Center ### Personal Assets Click on the "My Account" button on the navigation bar to access your personal account center. On the Account Center page, click the "Account" button in the left menu to access the Personal Asset page. If your MetaMask wallet is connected to the GEOD Governance website, your veNFT will be automatically calculated and displayed on this page. * "MATIC": your MATIC balance * "GEOD": your GEOD token balance * "veNFT": Total number of veNFT votes you have * "Location NFT": Number of Location NFTs you own * "Staked GEOD": Number of tokens you have staked * "Locked GEOD": Number of of Locked GEOD tokens you own
### Create and Submit a Proposal On the Account Center page, click on the "My Draft" button in the left side menu to view your current proposal draft list. Click the "Create Proposal" button to start editing the proposal.
After clicking "Save," the document will be saved in edit mode, and you can view it in the "My Drafts" list. When clicking the "Save", "Submit" or "Vote" buttons, MetaMask will prompt you to verify yourself to authorise the actions. Please proceed to sign and verify yourself. Each MetaMask verification is valid for two hours.
Click "Edit" to re-enter editing mode, and click "Delete" to remove the draft proposal. Click "Preview" to preview the draft proposal.
After clicking the "Submit" button, the proposal will be reviewed and audited by the platform administrators, waiting for their approval. If the proposal is rejected, reasons for rejection will be provided. The proposer can view the rejection reason through the "Refuse Reason" column within the "My Proposals" list. If the proposal is approved, it will be displayed in the "My Proposals" list.
